...He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."
A Christian Internal Medicine doctor offering primary care for the believer, and for seekers who are open to the Christian worldview.
This is a remote telemedicine primary care practice, designed to deliver excellent care directly to you. Without the hassles!
I accept most insurances, but there is also a monthly subscription plan that may meet your needs. Either way, you get primary care from a Christian doctor to your phone or device. It's easy!
This is internal medicine the way it should be. I focus on disease prevention and healthy living. I'm also comfortable with complex medical patients. All are welcome!
Dr. Steve Ward is a Christian doctor who is committed to exceptional care. He offers primary care through telemedicine. His emphasis is preventive health, chronic disease management, and more. He is someone you can trust, who understands the balance between physical, emotional and spiritual wellness.
Please reach us at drward@livingwatersprimarycare.com, or call (207) 650-4160, if you cannot find the answer to your question.
Dr. Ward is board certified in internal medicine. He can take care of adult patients, ages 18yrs and above. He can care for you if you live in one of the following states - NY, MI, IL, OH, VA, WVA, GA. You need a PC, laptop, ipad, smartphone or other device that can accommodate zoom meetings for your video visit.
You will get excellent medical care but much, much more. Most physicians ignore the role of faith and spirituality in your overall wellness. I believe that the Christian worldview provides the best answer to life's toughest questions, such as - "Who are we?", "Where did we come from?", and "where are we going?"
I believe that Jesus loves you and wants to know you. The Christian message is that Jesus came to offer each of us forgiveness for our sins. This changes everything! I would be honored to consider your spiritual needs as part of your overall wellness. I’ll pray with you, offer you a Christian perspective, and share scriptural words of encouragement with you.
Non-Christians are welcome as well, if you are genuinely seeking God and are open to the Christian message.
Direct primary care is the future. Over the past several decades, health care has become more corporate and insurance driven. Patients no longer have direct, personal access to their physician. Insurance often controls the number and types of visits you are allowed. I do accept insurance, but direct primary care is a fantastic alternative for you if you choose. For a monthly subscription fee, you have access to your physician as often as you need and for as long as needed. Avoid the administrative hassle of dealing with large health systems, cumbersome office procedures, billing, and insurance run-arounds.
This is a 100% remote practice. Your visit occurs over zoom. That means that you can be home, at work, or anywhere else for that matter! You are free to go about your day. No more rearranging your schedule to drive to and from an office to wait in line, checking in and be roomed. Click a link and Dr. Ward will see you and take care of your needs.
Absolutely yes! Dr. Ward practices above and beyond the "standard of care." He will carefully listen to your needs and perform a thorough video examination. Bluetooth peripheral devices to perform specialized exams and to monitor blood pressure, oxygen saturation, heart rate and heart rhythm are available if needed. Dr. Ward maintains your chart in a HIPAA compliant electronic medical record. He can prescribe medications, order labs and other tests, place referrals, and all of the other functions of a full service primary care practice.
Totally! You don't need a fancy camera or microphones to participate. I'll text or email you a zoom link to get on video. You do NOT need to have your own zoom subscription. Correspondence is through email, and you can get onto the patient portal easily online. Pretty standard stuff with any device!
The short answer is any type of visit! Acute or urgent visits can be same day, keeping you out of urgent care or the ER.
Routine visits are for any reason, like you would see a local doctor for, usually chronic disease management and prevention of complications. I'm also available anytime for second opinions. Have a complex or confusing situation? I’m happy to review your records and provide a consultation for any questions or concerns.
Other visits include transitions of care, after you leave the hospital and return home. Telemedicine is perfect for pre-ops and Medicare annual wellness visits, too!
No problem. I'm fully licensed in the following states - NY, MI, IL, OH, GA, VA, WVA. If you live in one of those states, I can send anything you need to your local lab or pharmacy of choice. I can also order radiology studies and place referrals easily. Results come to me and also post in the patient portal for your review.
Yes, I do take insurance. But if you would prefer, you can choose to pay a monthly subscription fee instead. This is called "direct primary care". This would give you access to your physician as much as needed, bypassing insurance restrictions. As a result, I have more time to spend with you and give you excellent care that is personalized to you.
Direct primary care is way cheaper than your insurance premium. Still, I recommend that you keep your insurance because it covers you for catastrophic losses such as major surgery or hospitalizations. Direct primary care has lots of advantages - it saves you time from having to interact with insurance companies. No more disputes over claims or prior authorizations. This is way less time wasted on paperwork and long hold times. More importantly, direct primary care gives you longer appointment times and better access. There is no middle man!
I do accept insurance, so your normal costs would apply just like seeing a doctor in person. If you choose a direct subscription instead, I charge $150 per month. This is cheaper than most direct primary care practices. I want to be accessible for as many people as possible.
If you would like to sign-up for a subscription, I do require a 3 month commitment. This allows me to plan my schedule in advance. The subscription fee is due monthly, even if you don't use the service. You can make appointments as much or as little as you like. The benefit you get is flexibility and availability!
I can see you as early as 6AM to help those of you with small kids and who can't easily miss work. I also see patients through the day during normal work hours. I have later appointments available up until 10pm as well, to help those of you with shift hours or evening family obligations.
See the "sign-up" link at the top of the home screen. This will walk you through the process. Basically, I need your name, DOB and email. Then I create a chart for you in the system, and email you instructions on how to get into the patient portal. You log into the portal and book yourself right onto my calendar. Very easy!
Call or email and we'll connect to see if this faith-based, internal medicine, direct primary care practice is a good fit for you.
